Install AnyDesk for MacOS 10.15.x (Catalina), 11.x (Big Sur), and 12.x (Monterey)

  • Click here to download AnyDesk.
  • The file named anydesk.dmg will download to your Downloads folder. Double-click on that file to open it. A new window opens that looks like this:

AnyDesk installer window

  • Drag the red AnyDesk icon on top of the Applications icon to copy the AnyDesk application to your Applications folder.
  • When the copying is complete, double-click on the Applications icon to open your Applications folder window. In that window, locate AnyDesk and double-click on it to open it.

  • Because Apple improved security in MacOS 10.15.x (Catalina) and later, you’ll need to give AnyDesk permission to allow us to view your screen remotely, and to allow our mouse and keyboard to control your Mac. Click System Preferences in the Apple menu.

  • In the System Preferences window, click on Security & Privacy.

  • In the Security & Privacy window, click on the Privacy tab at the top.

  • In the Privacy window, first click the lock in the lower left corner to unlock the window so changes can be made.  You’ll be asked to enter your Mac’s login password…a security measure. Once unlocked, click Accessibility in the left column. The right side of the window lists all applications that request Accessibility…the picture below shows only AnyDesk, but there may be more in that list. Click the box just to the left of AnyDesk to allow Accessibility. Then close the Security & Privacy window.

  • Now scroll further down in the left column, and click on Screen Recording. In that window, click the box near AnyDesk to give AnyDesk permission to allow us to view your screen. (NOTE: You’ll likely see a window appear saying that AnyDesk must quit and reopen for this change to take effect. For the moment, just click the Later button in that window, because we have one more step to perform.)

  • Click Full Disk Access in the left column. Once again, click the box near AnyDesk. We need this permission to install or update software, and also for virus scans.

  • Close the Security & Privacy window. Click in the AnyDesk window to make it the currently active application, then click Quit AnyDesk in the AnyDesk menu.

  • Finally, reopen the AnyDesk application and give us the 9 or 10 digit “Your Address” number from top of the window by calling or texting us at 919-404-0222, or send it by email to support@everythingmacintosh.com.

We’ll attempt to connect to your computer remotely. When we do, a window will appear showing that we’re trying to connect, and you’ll need to click the Accept button to accept our connection.
